Back from the beach. Set behind the beachfront row, toward the ring road, are the smaller hotels and guesthouses with a pool in the middle. This is where the cheap end of the search results lives, and there's nothing wrong with it if a short walk to the sand instead of a short stagger doesn't ruin your day. It is the sensible pick if the room is somewhere you sleep rather than somewhere you sit.

Who each one suits

Families want the sand. The calm water is the entire reason parents choose this bay over the main one, and that argument collapses if you have to convoy a toddler, three floats and a cool bag down a hill twice a day.

Couples can go either way, and honestly the hillside wins on romance. A pool with a view of the whole bay and nobody else in it beats a resort pool with a family of five doing cannonballs beside you.
