If You Actually Want the Big Night Out

Chaweng earns its reputation. Soi Green Mango is the strip: wall-to-wall bars, a cabaret show or two, and clubs that don't really get going until well after dark. Most bars wind down between 1am and 2am; the dedicated clubs push to 3 or 4am on a weekend. Lamai runs a smaller, rowdier version of the same night out down the coast, with beer bars that get loud from around 10pm and don't bother slowing down until well past midnight.

The Full Moon Party (Not Actually on This Island)

It's food, it's browsing, it's a proper stroll, the kind of evening that doesn't require picking a side of the island's reputation. Bophut's own bar scene closes earlier than Chaweng's too, usually around midnight, so the street doesn't turn into a different thing once the market packs up.

Getting Home After Dark
