Bophut: grown-up drinks, not clubbing

It's built around Fisherman's Village on the north coast, a lane of old wooden shophouses turned into restaurants, wine bars and beach bars right on the water. The register is low-lit and civilised: cocktails with your feet near the sand, live acoustic sets, dinner that rolls into drinks without a queue or a wristband. Friday night the whole lane becomes a walking-street market worth building your week around. And the version we're biased about, because it's our bay. Chaweng Noi sits just over the hill from Chaweng, a seven-minute drive south, on a quiet east-facing bay you can actually swim in. It's close enough that a night on Soi Green Mango is a short cab each way, and far enough that you'd never know the party existed from your pillow. You get Chaweng's entire menu of bad decisions on demand, then you come home to silence and a pool that's yours.
